The chosen location was the beautiful Mirador at La Residencia, one of the hotel’s most stunning terraces. Luke arrived walking with his partner without raising any suspicion. She thought they were simply going to enjoy the views before having a drink at sunset. As they walked calmly through the gardens, they talked and admired the landscape. However, they had no idea that just a few steps ahead, one of the most important moments of their lives was waiting for them.
When they arrived at the Mirador, Luke stopped in front of her. I was ready as their photographer in Mallorca to capture every detail. For a few seconds, he simply looked at her and smiled with a mix of nerves and excitement. Then, he took her hands and began to say a few words that he had prepared with care.
At that moment, it happened. Luke slowly got down on one knee and took out the ring. First, she looked completely surprised, and then a smile appeared that she could not hide. She could hardly believe what was happening while trying to hold back her emotions. After she said “yes”, it was time to celebrate with a glass of champagne while they enjoyed the sunset over Deià. They took their time and almost forgot that the camera was still capturing every moment. Then, they simply enjoyed a kind of happiness that is very hard to describe with words.
Afterwards, we walked through some of the most beautiful areas of the hotel and made the most of the wonderful golden-hour light. We walked among ancient olive trees, carefully kept gardens and small stone paths that make Belmond La Residencia one of the most photogenic hotels in Mallorca. The photos came naturally. A hug, a look, a smile and their hands together, showing the new ring, told the whole story without the need for words. Later, they went to El Olivo for dinner and to continue the celebration. The restaurant, led by chef Pablo, is without doubt one of the best in Mallorca.
