Some destinations impress you when you visit them, while others stay in your memory forever. The Amalfi Coast belongs to the second group. No matter how many times you return, you will always discover a new terrace overlooking the sea, a bougainvillea-covered street, or a small corner where time seems to have stood still. As a wedding photographer on the Amalfi Coast, every trip reminds me why so many couples from around the world choose this beautiful part of Italy to celebrate their wedding, one of the most important days of their lives.

Why get married on the Amalfi Coast?

There is no sense of hurry here. The morning begins with the sound of church bells, the scent of freshly cut lemons, and the Mediterranean light slowly filtering through the balconies of historic villas and hotels. Everything invites you to slow down and enjoy the moment. This is precisely why weddings on the Amalfi Coast have an atmosphere that is difficult to find anywhere else in the world.

In recent years, I have been fortunate enough to photograph several weddings on the Amalfi Coast, and they have all had something in common. None of them needed elaborate decoration because the landscape itself was the most beautiful setting imaginable. The couples simply wanted to share the day with the people they love most, surrounded by a spectacular setting and enjoying every moment without having to worry about anything else.

An intimate wedding is the real luxury

For a long time, weddings seemed to compete to become bigger and more extravagant. Today, however, the opposite is happening. Many couples are looking for a far more personal celebration, where they can embrace each guest, chat during the cocktail hour, and enjoy dinner surrounded only by their family and closest friends.

The Amalfi Coast seems made for this type of celebration. Its small villages, boutique hotels, and historic villas create the perfect setting for an elegant, relaxed, and deeply emotional wedding. Ravello and Scala perfectly represent this philosophy. Both preserve the essence of authentic Italy and offer privileged views over the Mediterranean.

For this weddings, we were fortunate to work with an exceptional team. In one of them the amazing wedding planners Mr and Mrs wedding in Italy  and the videographer Valerio from @mv_lifestyle_films, with them is always a pleasure to work. And the  florist @staraceflorist and @amalfi_wedding_craft, @piomansi as dj, @giallucar_violinist, @danyesmakeup, @rossella.victoria and @carmela_italyweddingcelebrant. The wedding was at the amazing Anantara Covento Di Amalfi

The other one at Palazzo Pascal with the videographer Valerio from @mv_lifestyle_films and the floral design in one of them was created by @flower_antonia.

There is no need to fill the space with excessive decoration because every corner has a natural beauty that makes each photograph feel special. As a wedding photographer on the Amalfi Coast, I always recommend enjoying the location without trying to transform it. The ancient stone, lemon trees, sea-view terraces, and bougainvillea already create the most beautiful setting a couple could imagine.

Preparations full of excitement

Everything begins long before the ceremony. As the bride finishes getting ready, the room fills with conversation, laughter, and warm embraces. The dress hangs carefully beside the bouquet, while soft light enters through the windows, creating a warm and elegant atmosphere.

Meanwhile, the groom spends the final moments with his family and friends. The nerves slowly begin to appear, but they soon turn into excitement when the time comes to leave for the ceremony.

These are precisely the moments I enjoy photographing the most because there is no protocol yet. Everything happens naturally, and every emotion appears without the need to direct anything.

My role is to observe, anticipate, and tell the story exactly as it unfolds. I do not want you to remember only what your dress or hairstyle looked like years from now. I want you to feel your mother’s embrace again, remember your father’s smile, and relive the knowing glance you shared just before the ceremony began.

What is a wedding on the Amalfi Coast like?

Getting married in a church steeped in centuries of history

One of the ceremonies took place at the Church of Sant’Eustachio in Scala, an absolutely fascinating location for couples seeking an intimate and distinctive wedding. Its ancient stone walls, some of which are still partially preserved, tell a story that began hundreds of years ago and continue to convey the same emotion today.

The silence is broken only by the sound of the wind, while the Mediterranean stretches across the background like an immense blue stage. When the bride begins walking towards the altar, it is impossible not to feel moved. No one needs to speak because every glance reveals exactly what they are feeling.

Organising a wedding on the Amalfi Coast

As a wedding photographer on the Amalfi Coast, I try to remain completely unnoticed during these moments. I believe the best photographs are created when no one is aware of the camera and everyone can experience the ceremony with complete peace of mind.

Every tear, every smile, and every spontaneous gesture becomes part of the story that will later be preserved in your wedding photographs.

After the ceremony, the celebration continues among some of the most breathtaking landscapes in Italy. One of the weddings took place at the former convent that now forms part of the Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel, a historic building that preserves the charm of the old monastery while offering spectacular views over the sea.

Gardens suspended above the Mediterranean

Its gardens seem to float above the cliffs, while the terraces offer a privileged view of the Mediterranean. Every corner invites you to pause for a few seconds, take a deep breath, and enjoy the moment.

The other wedding took place at Palazzo Pascal, surrounded by gardens filled with lemon trees, stone pathways, and bougainvillea-covered terraces. Tables decorated with simple elegance, blended perfectly into the landscape and allowed all the attention to remain focused on the beauty of the surroundings.

When the cocktail hour began, the guests strolled around at a relaxed pace, enjoying the views and raising a glass to the newlyweds. There was no rush and no strict schedule. There were only conversations, embraces, and the feeling of experiencing a truly unforgettable day.

The light that captivates any photographer

If there is one thing that sets the Amalfi Coast apart from other destinations, it is the light. During the afternoon, the sun slowly begins to set over the Mediterranean, bathing the façades in warm tones that change every few minutes.

This is one of my favourite moments because it allows me to create elegant, natural, and completely timeless portraits. There is no need for complicated poses or carefully prepared settings. Simply walking slowly across a terrace, pausing for a few seconds in front of the sea, or wandering among the lemon trees is enough to create images filled with emotion.

Many couples tell me that they do not know how to pose, and I always give them the same answer: you do not need to learn anything. My way of working is to accompany you throughout the day, so you can enjoy your wedding while I focus on capturing what truly matters.

My approach to wedding photography

After many years working as an wedding photographer on the Amalfi Coast , I have learned that the most valuable images are never the ones carefully planned for several minutes. The photographs that eventually hold a special place in your home usually appear when no one expects them.

A father discreetly wiping away a tear during the ceremony.  The grandmother embracing her granddaughter after the vows. A group of friends laughing during the cocktail hour. The couple walking quietly while admiring the Mediterranean before returning to their guests.

These moments can never be repeated, and that is precisely what makes them so valuable.

As an Amalfi Coast wedding photographer, my goal is always to tell your story with honesty, elegance, and authenticity. When you open your wedding album twenty years from now, I want you to remember exactly how you felt in every moment, not only what the place where you were married looked like.

Wedding on the Amalfi Coast

A destination where memories last a lifetime

Getting married on the Amalfi Coast means giving yourselves an experience that will remain in your memories forever. Ravello, Scala, Amalfi, and each of their small villages offer unique settings for an intimate, elegant, and deeply romantic wedding.

Historic churches, villas overlooking the Mediterranean, gardens filled with lemon trees, and terraces suspended above the sea create an atmosphere that is difficult to describe in words. Yet when genuine emotions come together with such an extraordinary landscape, every photograph becomes even more meaningful.

If you are planning your wedding in Italy and looking for an Amalfi Coast wedding photographer who will capture your day with a natural, elegant, and timeless style, I would be delighted to join you on this adventure.

Trends may change, but emotions remain forever. There is no better place than the Amalfi Coast to begin a story you will remember for the rest of your lives.
