Today I would like to introduce you to this beautiful couple. As I have said on previous occasions, I am passionate about working as a photographer in Mallorca. It gives me the opportunity to meet many interesting people. This time I met a couple that I loved and who are very much in love with each other. Shiv wrote to me weeks before from Brooklyn in New York with an infectious enthusiasm. He explained to me that she loved landscapes, carefully crafted details and authentic moments. So together we devised something as intimate as it was magical: a photo shoot in a charming Mallorcan village. This was to be followed by a sunset engagement on top of a cliff with spectacular views of the sea. Plus a romantic picnic specially prepared for the occasion.

We got down to work and with my team we organised what was going to be a wedding proposal Mallorca very special for them. First they were going to visit Seville in the south of Spain and their trip would continue to Mallorca. They were going to stay at Hotel Es Molí in Deia during these days on the island. So we prepared everything to make it a magical surprise.
The afternoon began with soft light and a warm breeze caressing the atmosphere. We found ourselves in one of those villages with soul, in the heart of the island. Greeted each other as if we had known each other all our lives, they are so cute and close. Then ee started the couple photo session through the cobbled streets of this village.

After the session we decided to go to another place to continue with the photos. We got in the car and headed for the most special place of the day. A natural viewpoint overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, where the waves break loudly and the sky is dressed in shades of gold and pink at sunset. She didn’t know where we were going or what was going to happen.

When we arrived, the sun was just beginning to set gently on the horizon. There, with endless views of the sea, a romantic picnic awaited them: a rug, comfortable cushions, a basket with snacks, cava, wild flowers and a bouquet of red roses. Everything was arranged with care, designed to surprise her at exactly the right moment.
She saw it and was speechless. Emotionally, with tears in her eyes, she put her hands to her mouth. And then, Shiv knelt before her, took out a shiny ring and asked her to spend the rest of her life by his side. It was an instant of pure magic. She said yes amidst laughter, hugs and loving glances. The sun, the sea and the wind seemed to stop to accompany that long-awaited ‘yes’.
After the great moment, they shared a picnic while talking, laughing and dreaming of the future. They toasted to their engagement, to having chosen Mallorca as the setting for their story, and to that moment that will always remain in their memory. I, as a photographer, kept my distance, capturing every emotion with my camera, without interfering, respecting the intimacy of the moment.

Then they told us that Shiv had learnt some phrases in her dialect to ask her to marry him. That was very special for her. The union of her tradition with the wild nature of Mallorca created a perfect combination: exotic, emotional and deeply authentic.
