Anna and Pedro, for example, decided to do their romantic couple’s photo session in Mallorca during an afternoon in June. She is Brazilian, he is Mallorcan. They live together in Switzerland, but felt that this couple photo shoot was a way to celebrate their story before they take the step to marriage next year. For them, it was an emotional pause in the midst of the day-to-day pace, a space to just be together and let go.

I was very happy when Anna contacted me to tell me that they were getting married. They really liked my style and wanted me to be their wedding photographer in Mallorca. Before the day arrived, they wanted to do a couple’s photo session that was like a pre-wedding. I had already seen them in photos, but when I met them that afternoon it was like: what a couple! They are both gorgeous and, moreover, charming.

The most important thing in a session like this is not perfect poses, but real emotions. You don’t need to know how to stand in front of the camera and you don’t need any previous experience. They hadn’t had any photos taken before and they did great. The essential thing is to let yourself be guided naturally, trust and enjoy the moment. As a photographer in Mallorca, I work with this aim in mind: to create a relaxed, intimate and authentic atmosphere, where couples can feel comfortable and free to be themselves.

The chosen evening was in mid-June, when the sun in Mallorca gives that golden light that transforms every corner into a magical place. Anna and Pedro wanted something simple, intimate, but deeply authentic. They weren’t looking for poses or artificial scenery, just to let themselves be carried away by the emotion of being together in such a beautiful setting.

The place I chose for them was a beach at sunset, far away from the hustle and bustle of tourism. I design each romantic photo session for couples in Mallorca in a personalised way. This way I don’t repeat formulas. Always I look for a place that makes sense for the couple, a time of day where the light is soft and an aesthetic that reflects the character and style of those who stand in front of the lens.

During the session, the complicity between them was evident. They laughed, hugged each other, walked barefoot along the shore. It was precisely this naturalness that made the photos convey so much emotion.
It was all very fast and fluid, going from one place to another calmly and having a good time.

We did some costume changes to give them variety. The last thing was for them to put on their swimming costumes to get into the sea. The couple’s session continued as the sun went down. The light became softer, more intimate. The last photos captured an almost magical atmosphere: them watching the sunset, surrounded by the sound of the sea. It was the perfect summary of who they are: a couple who love each other without reservation, who celebrate their history and who have chosen to walk together no matter the distance.

They will get married next year, in a party surrounded by friends and family travelling from Brazil, Spain, Switzerland, etc. But before that big day, this pre-wedding session in Mallorca will remain as an indelible memory of what really matters: the love shared and the beauty of the beginnings.

And so, between the Mediterranean Sea and the golden light of June, the story of Anna and Pedro was photographed. Next year I will have their wedding to continue telling their beautiful story.
