Wedding photographer in Spain
I met this very special couple during a trip to Rome. They called me asking if I had a free date, one of those June dates that fill up quickly two years before. Luckily, or because it had to be that way, just recently that wedding had been changed to next year and I was able to say yes. They asked me to make a video call to get to know each other while I was on a getaway with friends to one of my favorite cities.
In the hall of a hotel with good wifi we met and told each other everything. They are Nuria and Sandro, he is Swiss and she is Spanish. They live together in Switzerland and wanted to have their big day in Mallorca.
As a wedding photographer in Spain I get a lot of these kind of requests from all over the world. They knew from the beginning that they wanted an intimate and romantic wedding, with only their closest friends and family. I immediately told them that they were right, in this kind of weddings is where everyone has the best time, enjoying every minute to the fullest.
Sandro knows Spanish quite well and it was a very funny chat. Nuria is lovely and her family is from Almeria. She speaks German and English perfectly so between one thing and another we almost missed the glass of wine and the pasta in the video call.
Beautiful location in Mallorca
Two days later they were already writing me saying they wanted me and I was happy because they were very nice and I really wanted to do their wedding. They were going to Mallorca in spring so we would see each other very soon.
They had chosen to have the wedding at the Hotel Casal Santa Eulalia, a building that was a convent in the thirteenth century. Very elegant and at the same time modern with different spaces to take advantage of all the land they have. I am lucky as a wedding photographer in Spain to know incredible and beautiful places.
Amazing planning for the wedding
The day we met we were all excited. I went with them to all the places where they were planning to do things. The preparations were going to be done by both of them here, so it was perfect. That way they didn’t waste time going from one place to another.
I insisted on the light issue so that they would take it into account. For the banquet they had planned to put fairy lights with Tot a Punt rentals so it would be a great atmosphere. We said goodbye knowing that it was going to be a very magical Swiss wedding in Mallorca.

And June 24 came as it were with very good weather, it must be said. Because the previous days the weather had been very strange with some rain from time to time. I had been talking to Nuria the days before about this and I assured her that it was not going to rain for sure. As a wedding photographer in Spain I have never been rained on at a wedding that we had to change everything. I was planning to continue that luck with them.
First we started with Sandro who was in his room, almost fully dressed, having a drink. His friends and his father were with him and since there were so many of them I preferred to go down to one of the hotel lounges. That way we would have more space as there were so many of them.
His father helped him put on his vest and suit jacket, he was especially elegant. He was wearing a beij colored suit with matching bow tie and brown shoes with buckles, all very stylish.
Then we went to the claustra area for a few more photos which were fun and I left them having a drink to go with the bride.
Nuria greeted me with all her bridesmaids in kimono and looking forward to the party. They were putting the finishing touches to her hairstyle and she looked beautiful. We hung the suit from the window and between one thing and another came out the cava and balloons. This Swiss wedding in Mallorca promised a lot for me as a wedding photographer in Spain.
Ceremony among olive trees
We went to the ceremony area where a white carpet presided over the main aisle. The guests had had a welcome drink with lemonade and were now taking their seats. Nuria’s family was very excited and many had come from Almeria for the occasion, others from Barcelona. Their little dog, a very cute dachshund was with a guest taking care of him. He was going to bring them the rings.
A friend of theirs played the guitar and Sandro’s brother, who was also a groomman, was in charge of the video. He had a partner who helped him and they didn’t want to miss anything. There was a lot of expectation to see the beautiful bride. Sandro was waiting for her at the altar with his friends, nervous and hot. The June sun was beating down on the ceremony area.
Nuria made her entrance on her father’s arm, both of them excited. Nuria and Sandro looked at each other as soon as they saw each other and finally they were together at the altar.
The ceremony was to be conducted by Claudia with whom we have met several times. She was very nice in Spanish and German telling things about the bride and groom. They put on their rings brought by their little dog and made the exit with a happy smile on their faces.
Couple and cocktail photos
We went for the couple photos to an area that we had already decided when we visited the farm and that was very nice. They were more relaxed and enjoyed themselves while I took the pictures I had already planned for them. As a wedding photographer in Spain I like to make sure that the couples don’t miss any of the cocktail. So we came back quickly and the couple received congratulations from everyone.
They had hired a flamenco guitarist named Toni Cruz who is very good. Right away people were cheering up at this Swiss wedding in Mallorca. Everybody was dancing and giving their all. The appetizer offered by the hotel catering offered trays with all kinds of snacks and the guests enjoyed themselves.
Toni Cruz had to do some extra songs because the atmosphere was very lively and more than one couple linked one song to the next.
Banquet at Casal Santa Eulalia
Once we were told that we had to go to the banquet area, our eyes went to the sky. There were some suspicious clouds threatening a bit ugly. To get to the banquet we had to cross a huge field with a beautifully kept green lawn.
When you turned a corner you could see the illuminated pool and all the tables under a beautiful bridge of lights. It was ideal to take beautiful pictures, they had listened to me about the lighting, it was wonderful.
Magical banquet
The waiters started to bring out the food and in between there were several speeches. On the Swiss side in German and on the Spanish side in Spanish of course.
Everyone was very happy to be witnesses of this beautiful wedding. The emotional and funny note at the same time was the video prepared by Sandro’s brother who is a specialist in that.
He had recorded scenes with friends and family dedicating a few words to the couple. Besides there were funny moments of the two of them and it was great the montage he had done.
Suddenly in the middle of the video a few dangerously heavy drops began to fall. Running we covered the cameras and brought some umbrellas. Thank goodness it was just a couple of clouds or so it seems and they went away without bothering us any more. It was not the time for any summer rain. After that they even did a very funny game where everybody had a lot of fun.
Party time at amazing swiss wedding
We went to the disco area where the couple did their first dance surrounded by all the guests. The mojitos were flying and the music encouraged them to dance to the rhythm of salsa. We gave them both a big kiss thanking them for their trust and wishing them all the happiness in the world. Hopefully we will see each other again very soon.
