Wedding at Finca Son Mesquida Nou.
Today I am going to tell you about this beautiful wedding at Finca Son Mesquida Nou in Algaida that we have lived. Thanks to this job as a wedding photographer I have the immense luck to meet many people. They cross my life at a very special moment for them as they are planning their wedding day. All these couples have their stories, their moments, their illusions and I love it when they tell me everything.
This wedding has been marked by every detail planned with great taste and love. They are Jean Pierre and Manuel two guys who were destined to meet and live their own love story. They organized everything together from London where they live. Or maybe I can say from many corners of the world because they do not stop traveling for work. They are producers of an English TV program and they record all over the world.
They planned to do it all themselves without a wedding planner and wanted every moment and every detail to be magical. This is not easy but for them it is something they are used to. Their love story has been full of obstacles, moments of separation and doubts.
They met a long time ago but it never went beyond that. After life has made them meet more people and many places it brought them back together. They are a couple that was meant to be together and realize that they are meant for each other.
When I met them I immediately understood how much they love each other and I loved them. They told me the story of their proposal, which I think was spectacular. Jean Pierre arranged for many of their friends to learn a choreography. One day he took Manuel to El Retiro park in Madrid and without him knowing it all started.
The music of La La Land played and friends started to come out dancing and singing in an impressive Flash Mob. Then Jean Pierre proposed to Manuel and of course all excited he said yes. This is how this very special couple of this wedding at Finca Son Mesquida Nou is. I love doing LGTBI weddings with all these amazing stories behind them.
Since they contacted me we have had an incredible connection. First it was a video call, them in London and us in Mallorca. What started as a simple conversation turned into three hours of telling each other about our lives. We just had to open a wine and prepare a cheese plate online, it was wonderful.
They are so open, honest and funny that it is a pleasure to talk to them about everything. These are the kind of people you meet and you want them to stay in your life forever. So that’s how our relationship began.
Since then we have been in continuous contact. They kept telling us what they wanted to do and what they had planned. All the care with which they were designing their suits with a tailor from Mallorca and fabrics bought in London. The music they wanted to liven up the wedding. I recommended Rogerio, my great Brazilian friend. He plays percussion and is able to animate everything and organize a party by playing two forks.
This wedding at Finca Son Mesquida Nou promised a lot. We met several times, once in Malaga where they were shooting and another one in Mallorca. Little by little everything was being arranged for this LGTBI wedding in Mallorca, they had hired Tot a Punt for the catering and tableware. I told them how important it was to have good lighting after dark and everything was going to be perfect.
And the big day arrived, which dawned with a beautiful August sun and a little wind that was going to help to take the heat better.
We arrived at the Finca and Flora Event was already setting up all the decorations. The Tot a Punt team, led by Elisabeth, had the tables almost set up and everything was going perfectly.
Manuel came out of the room and we kissed him, he was with the typical nerves. We had agreed that in the preparations they were going to change each other. They had not yet seen each other in the suit made to measure by the tailor Manuel Carvajal. They knew a little of the design because they had chosen the fabrics together, both of them of Prince of Wales design. The fabrics were bought in London, the cradle of tailors for gentlemen.
We went to one of the rooms where we had agreed to take the pictures since it is spacious and has light. Jean Pierre came out and we gave him two kisses, he was also nervous about many different things. The suits, with the help of Manuel Carvajal from Carvajales in Mallorca, their creator, started to come out of their cases. They were spectacular with beautiful details.
The vests had a beautiful and very original fabric with flower motifs on the back. They put the casual and modern touch. The brown shoes made in London, each one with its own style, were beautiful. The most personal touch was in the cufflinks, Manu’s were his father’s with his initials engraved. They were very elegant and handsome, like two gentleman in love. They looked at each other with a love that was very touching.
The guests were already waiting outside, we went out for the welcome drink and were already looking forward to it. Everyone sat with anticipation, eager to see the couple. First the whole close family made their entrance to the rhythm of the music of La La Land, parents, siblings and nephews and nieces. And with Queen blaring, the two grooms came out on the arm of their mothers respectively. They had planned to make their entrance at the same time through different aisles among the guests. When they arrived at the altar they kissed their mothers who sat down and finally stood together in front of everyone.
The ceremony was to be conducted by a very close friend of theirs who knew them very well. There were two speeches that made us all almost cry. There was also a scene with candles and mothers with a lot of meaning. The highlight came when they read their vows to each other. Manuel began by listing all the things he had fallen in love with Jean Pierre for. He finished it by speaking in French, Jean Pierre did not expect it at all and was very surprised. Those of us present had to restrain ourselves as we watched Jean Pierre’s emotion and surprise.
When it was Jean Pierre’s turn, he said such nice things that we had no doubt that they were right for each other. They complement each other perfectly in every way. That they looked at each other and said so many beautiful things from the heart made our job very difficult. We were all teary-eyed and super emotional. They say they are not romantics but they know how to write feelings like no one else.
The fun came when they put on the rings because they had previously passed them through the hands of all their loved ones. It was a way to fill them with good energy and love. Well, when they got to them they mixed them up and put on the other’ s ring, which caused a lot of laughter.
When they finished they came out under the bougainvillea with everyone throwing petals at them and we went to take pictures of the couple.
Being a wedding at Finca Son Mesquida Nou there are many beautiful places to take pictures. We took them down to a wheat field where there was a brutal light. They looked like models and that we were doing a fashion editorial. It was great that they trusted in my creativity and for that I am very grateful as a wedding photographer in Mallorca.
We went back to the cocktail area where everyone congratulated them happily. There were guests from all over the world, from the UK, France….
As I said, they had hired my great friend and musician Rogerio to entertain. With his band of good Brazilian music he set the mood for the wedding. Tot a Punt’s caterer had several food stations set up. The waiters served and brought delicious appetizers to everyone. We moved from there to the banquet area where there were many long tables and they sat at one of them.
The garland lights illuminated everything beautifully and they made the entrance with yellow smoke. They came running like they were running for their lives and were very happy. They ended up standing on their chairs with everyone raising their napkins in the air. The atmosphere and happiness of this wedding at Finca Son Mesquida Nou was present all the time.
There was a moment when one of Manuel’s friends stood up and started singing. She was joined by all her friends in a choreography they had prepared and with crab legs in their hands. It was a song from the movie My Best Friend’s Wedding, it was great. “The moment I see you….”
The food was great and everyone was very happy. They cut the ensaimadas cake that they almost dismantled it and got ready to do the first dance together. It was a Vetusta Morla song “23 de Junio” like a waltz. They were joined by Rogerio with percussion and doing a conga they all went to the disco area. Manuel gave it all with a little nephew of his, the couple had a great time dancing.
We say goodbye to them giving them a big hug, it has been a pleasure to make their wedding. One of the most beautiful on an emotional and photographic level, they are amazing and we hope to see them soon for a drink. We wish them all the happiness in the world and have a great time on their honeymoon in Bali.
